Job description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. We are looking for a postholder to administer the website for the Doctoral College: Arts and Humanities Faculty. The satellite website has been created in consultation with the external web developers SMILE, and requires maintenance and updating.

The postholder will need to be confident in their use of Wordpress in order to edit the web pages.

Duties would include -

  • Updating the Wordpress website with information from the doctoral college leads
  • Responding to requests from current PhD students for information on the website (via the site's online form)
  • Uploading PhD blogs to the website (if appropriate)
  • Retrieving data from the old PAHC website to transfer to the new site
  • Transferring issues of the postgraduate THE HIVE journal from the old to new site
  • Creating new web pages for the new site, when appropriate (e.g. in relation to THE HIVE)

Requirements

  • Proficiency with WordPress and the ability to demonstrate experience managing and updating websites
  • Attention to detail, ensuring high accuracy when editing and uploading information
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
  • Professional and responsive when communicating with the Doctoral College: Arts and Faculty Head and Deputy Head.

Desirable

  • Experience uploading and organising journal issues and blog content
  • Basic understanding of user experience to create visually appealing and user-friendly pages
  • A background in Journalism and/or English
