What you'll do:

  • Undertake user research and testing to understand the needs of diverse audiences, including prospective and current students, staff, alumni, and partners.
  • Design accessible, inclusive, and engaging user journeys across desktop and mobile.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance functionality with visual appeal.
  • Collaborate with developers, content experts, and other colleagues to deliver an intuitive and cohesive digital experience.
  • Contribute to the creation of a scalable design system and style guide for ongoing use.
  • Ensure all designs align with brand, accessibility, and usability standards.

Requirements

  • Have experience in UX and UI design for websites or digital platforms.
  • Be comfortable using tools such as Figma, or similar design software.
  • Understand accessibility, responsive design, and user-centred design principles.
  • Translate complex ideas into simple, engaging digital experiences.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and communicating design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in higher education, public sector, or large-scale web projects is an advantage but not essential.
