Job description
As they look to the future with their newly created Technology and Innovation department, a key hire is for a Data and Analytics Manager to lead their data function. Reporting to the acting Head of Innovation, you will strategically plan for services to move from an Azure cloud hosted data warehouse and to integrate into a Microsoft Fabric AI environment; a move that will bring major benefits for services across the council.
The role will also have management responsibilities for a team of three Data Engineers, with a view to grow in the future.
The role will suit someone who wants to gain leadership experience in emerging data technologies and wants to see data become integral to how council leaders and departments make informed decisions to improve lives.
The Role:
- Lead on innovative use of data across the council, promoting across all sectors and identifying and implementing cutting edge tools and processes to continue to provide first class solutions.
- Involve internal and external communities, employees, commercial partners, customers, users, and other stakeholders in the innovation process.
- Organisational expert on the use of data to predict performance and demand, provide trend analysis, model what if scenarios and work towards a single view of our users.
- Lead on working with regional partner organisations to prove the value of data and its transformational capabilities.
- Promote the council and its data led activities externally.
- Lead on the development of a culture that encourages innovation, measured risk taking and collaboration relating to data and analytics.
- Lead and plan the development of data related capabilities and implementation of innovative processes, tools and frameworks.
- Lead the communication and an open flow of creative ideas between interested parties and the set-up of innovation networks and communities.
- Maintain a strong external network within own area of specialism of data and intelligence and take a leading part in professional activities outside own employing organisation.
- Lead the development of the data architecture in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas to deliver the wide range of data and analytics output.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Outlook?, * Proactive outlook and strategically focused
- Data Management experience is essential
- Demonstratable experience in migrating data into new environments
- Previous work with Microsoft Azure Cloud and/or Microsoft Fabric advantageous
