Job description

Who we're looking for As a Technical Team Lead: Data you will be working as part of an agile team to deliver solutions to our clients ensuring they get maximum value from their data. We play to people's strengths, and you can expect to be hands-on, providing the opportunity for you to utilise and continually develop your existing technical and project skills to deliver high quality solutions.

The Technical Team Lead role includes line management responsibility, where you will be assigned a number of Technical Consultants.

We work with a Winning from Anywhere® approach but there is an element of travel to client sites when required, along with travel to our company conference and events. What you'll be delivering

  • Lead and mentor a team of Technical Consultants, ensuring engagement, growth, and alignment with company culture.
  • Oversee resource planning, scheduling, and holiday management to maintain smooth project and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Pre-sales, Commercial, and Project Management teams to scope and deliver projects effectively.
  • Drive performance management, personal development plans, and certification pathways for team members.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of technical solutions in line with best practices and Transparity standards.
  • Support technical delivery when needed, including designing scalable data solutions in Microsoft/Azure environments.
  • Contribute to innovation by implementing cloud migrations, data lakes, and robust ETL/ELT solutions for client needs.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of role-modeling company values.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehouse development using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, and/or SQL Server.
  • Expertise in designing and developing ETL/ELT processes with SQL and Python.
  • Strong knowledge of data lake implementation and medallion lakehouse architecture.
  • Skilled in managing large, complex datasets and writing advanced SQL/Python queries, notebooks, and stored procedures.
  • Solid understanding of BI and data warehousing concepts, database design, and optimization techniques for large-scale solutions.
