The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of the company's entire technology function across infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, ERP, and business systems. With the organisation operating 24/7 across multiple sites, this is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, visible to staff, and trusted by the leadership team.

You'll also play a pivotal role in the rollout of new systems, including their Salesforce-based ERP, while shaping an empowered, proactive, high-performing IT culture., * Lead, mentor, and develop a team across support, development, cybersecurity, and programme delivery

  • Modernise and stabilise legacy systems and lead the transition to a future-fit IT landscape
  • Manage infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and system resilience across a multi-site operation
  • Drive a positive IT reputation by building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Oversee ERP and core business systems, including integrations and ongoing transformation projects
  • Own IT vendor management, budgets, and third-party relationships

  • Champion change, continuous improvement, and an open, constructive feedback culture

What Makes This Role Unique

  • An empowered culture where you're expected to take initiative, make decisions, and challenge old ways of working
  • A business that is ready to modernise after years of outdated systems - you'll have real freedom to shape the transformation
  • The previous Head of IT was in post for 20 years, so this is a rare opportunity to truly reset the function
  • A clear pathway to progress, with the potential to move toward board-level influence for the right person

Requirements

We're looking for someone with strong technical grounding and the emotional intelligence to lead in a people-driven organisation., * Experience as a Head of IT, IT Manager, or senior IT leader in a fast-paced, operational, or family-run business

  • A track record of driving transformation and managing change
  • Strong background across infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and business systems
  • Experience with ERP systems and major digital/CRM/ERP implementations (Salesforce experience beneficial but not essential)
  • The confidence to challenge the status quo and influence both senior leaders and front-line staff
  • The ability to communicate IT concepts in a clear, relatable, and non-technical way
  • A hands-on approach - comfortable being on-site, visible, and part of the daily operation

You'll thrive here if you are proactive, resilient, and genuinely enjoy solving problems for people across the business.

Benefits & conditions

  • £75,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
  • 5 days on-site in Southampton (some travel to depots when required)
  • The chance to lead a critical function during a major business transformation
  • A supportive, people-focused working culture
  • Real autonomy and the ability to make meaningful change quickly
