Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Systems Engineer to join our central IT team at Cabot Learning Federation. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the integration of our critical information systems, ensuring seamless data flows and automation that empower thousands of learners and educators across our academies.

This role is responsible for managing and developing the CLF's systems to ensure that interconnected data remains accurate, reliable, and well-maintained. The post holder will oversee a range of processes that support the safe movement of data across multiple CLF-deployed platforms, including but not limited to Azure, Paxton Net2 Access Control, Office 365, Fabric, Microsoft School Data Sync, and the Nimble Training Platform. These systems are critical to the ongoing success and progression of the trust.

You'll lead on trust-wide system integration and development, design bespoke applications to improve operational efficiency, and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with best practice. From building automation processes and managing data lakes to supporting large-scale system upgrades, your work will be central to delivering a robust and innovative digital experience for our federation., In this role, you'll be a key part of our Central IT Team - responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions across the trust. You'll have the opportunity to shape system integration strategy, work with cutting-edge tools, and contribute to a mission-driven organisation that values technology in education.

Requirements

You will have:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, Azure Dev Ops.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages, SQL, PowerShell, with experience in APIs and automation processes.
  • Hands-on experience integrating complex systems, managing data flows, and developing bespoke applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders at all levels and translate technical concepts into actionable solutions.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and continuous improvement, with a focus on supporting education through effective technology.
  • Relevant qualifications, including a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
