Job description
On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Senior Content Designer (Inside IR35) for a 4 month contract based Remotely with occasional visits to Corsham.
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is seeking an experienced Senior Content Designer to create clear, user-focused content for digital services. You'll take responsibility for content quality, mentor colleagues and ensure alignment with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
As a Senior Content Designer your main responsibilities will be to:
- Take responsibility for content quality across projects.
- Write and map user stories to support service design.
- Review the work of others to assure quality.
- Mentor and manage small teams of junior content designers.
- Lead and contribute to cross-government content projects and community.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and regulations.
- Apply GDS principles and champion user-centred design.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Mentoring?, * Proven experience as a Senior Content Designer in government or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of GDS standards and user-centred design.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other content designers.
- Experience in Agile working and iterative delivery.
- Strategic thinking and leadership capability.
- Experience of writing inclusive and accessibility content for all users.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SV clearance.
