IT Technician

We're looking for a proactive and technically capable IT Technician to join our on-site team in Wolverhampton. This hands-on role covers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, ensuring our technology environment remains stable, secure, and efficient. You'll support a wide range of systems and users while contributing to infrastructure improvements and service enhancements., To monitor, maintain, and support our IT infrastructure while resolving incidents quickly and driving improvements in reliability, security, and user experience., * Act as the primary on-site contact for all IT incidents, service requests, and escalations.

• Provide comprehensive support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and conferencing systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD environments.
• Administer Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and permissions.
• Configure and manage firewalls - preferably Fortinet FortiGate, though experience with other vendors (Cisco, Sophos, Palo Alto) is equally valued.
• Support Windows deployment, patch management, and endpoint protection.
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, assets, and processes.
• Collaborate across teams to implement infrastructure improvements, network optimisation, and security updates.
• Perform preventative maintenance and contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives.

Do you have experience in macOS?, * Minimum 2 years of professional experience in IT support, helpdesk, or infrastructure roles. (More experienced candidates with strong fundamentals are highly encouraged to apply.)

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin, and Azure AD.
• Solid understanding of networking principles and firewall administration (Fortinet preferred; others welcome).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be able to work onsite in Wolverhampton daily.

Additional Advantage

While not mandatory, experience in the following areas will be considered beneficial:

• Supporting Linux systems and macOS devices.
• Working with AWS infrastructure or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Intune, Group Policy Management, or SCCM/Endpoint Manager.
• Exposure to virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
• Understanding of backup, recovery, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Basic PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration.
