Job description

Network IT are supporting a well-established logistics and supply chain organisation in the search for an experienced General IT Manager. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the entire IT function and driving technology strategy to support business growth and operational excellence. As General IT Manager, you'll oversee infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and project delivery, while leading a small internal team and managing third-party providers. You'll work closely with senior management to ensure IT services are secure, efficient, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

Role Overview In this role, you will take ownership of all IT operations and strategy, ensuring robust systems and services across the organisation. You'll lead day-to-day IT management while delivering projects that enhance performance and security.

  • Manage and develop the IT function, including infrastructure, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Oversee business-critical systems such as WMS, TMS, and ERP.
  • Define and implement the IT roadmap and strategy.
  • Deliver projects including upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
  • Ensure strong cybersecurity, data protection, and disaster recovery measures.
  • Act as an escalation point and provide hands-on technical support when needed.
  • Manage IT budgets, licensing, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify technology improvements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

  • Proven experience in IT management and operations within a complex environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of server management, networking, and information security.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing teams and third-party providers.
  • Excellent project management capabilities and ability to deliver results on time.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

Desirable:

  • Degree in IT or related field and certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, ITIL).
