Job description

The Electronic Integration Specialist provides effective IT assistance to support the implementation and on-going function of the company's internal and external electronic system interfaces.

The position is responsible for implementation, support and maintenance of IT-related electronic integrations with customers and suppliers. The position involves exposure to a broad range of stakeholders within projects including third parties and customer / supplier contacts. It requires a flexible approach with strong problem solving and issue handling skills.

Summary of Role Responsibilities:

  • Liaise effectively with the Groups hosted Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integration partner to delivery customer and supplier integrations.
  • Design implementation patterns that optimise the use of the available resource.
  • Provide comprehensive second line technical support to determine the cause of integration issues.
  • Assist users with issues and changes to customer and/or supplier integrations.
  • Use the company service management tool to record details of all reported incidents, changes, problems and requests. Take all steps to troubleshoot incidents assigned and resolve or escalate to the appropriate contact.
  • Set up test data to assist with integration testing.
  • Set up production data to configure the system to implementation
  • Assist with the requirements gathering for new integrations and punch-out requests.
  • Provide user handover training as and when necessary, including pertinent documentation
  • Any other requests made by the management team, as and when necessary

  • Adaptability, * Good understanding of the business processes required to support procurement, fulfilment and billing tasks.
  • Basic understanding of Value Added Network (VAN) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) concepts
  • Basic understanding of Punch-out and procurement portals.
  • Understanding of core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and applications from a user and administration perspective, specifically with regards to the system interfaces.
  • Good troubleshooting Skills

Desirable

  • Experience of handling XML and other EDI formats
  • Experience of co-ordination of work packages with third party suppliers.
