Job description

Please note this role is an internal only opportunity and is available for secondment.

As a Senior Data Analyst within the Service Excellence team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting programmes, improvement initiatives and strategic decision-making across UCL's Professional Services. You will lead the development of performance dashboards, analytical insights, and data visualisations that enable UCL to monitor service effectiveness, track benefits realisation, and identify opportunities for improvement.

A key part of the role will involve managing and analysing UniForum data, working closely with the UniForum Programme Manager to ensure accurate and timely submission of HR and Supplier datasets. You will also lead on identifying the data required to establish baselines for improvement projects and measure their impact over time.

You will work in partnership with the Data & Insights team and stakeholders across UCL to improve data quality, strengthen governance practices, and ensure intelligence is available to support value-for-money decision making. This role may also include line management of Data Analysts within the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how data is used across Professional Services, champion evidence-based change, and contribute to shaping the future of UCL's service delivery.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tableau?, You will be a highly skilled analyst with experience processing and interpreting large, complex datasets, and you can confidently translate technical information into meaningful, accessible insights. You have strong experience using visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik, and are comfortable working with relational databases and query languages such as SQL.

Your analytical skills are complemented by excellent communication-able to explain complex issues clearly, visually and persuasively to non-technical audiences. You have strong Excel skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work methodically while managing multiple priorities.

You collaborate naturally with others, working in partnership with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of what the data shows and how it should inform decisions. You understand the challenges of working in large, decentralised organisations and are comfortable navigating diverse viewpoints to reach data-driven consensus.

Most importantly, you bring curiosity, proactivity and a commitment to evidence-based improvement, aligned with UCL's Ways of Working and the ethos of Service Excellence.
