Within this project the generation and meshing of artificially generated microstructures from experimental data should be enabled by creating a workflow to link three different software programs. To achieve this, Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and similar 3D data will be utilized and analyzed, using MTEX (mtex-toolbox.github.io) to extract key microstructural parameters. These descriptors are then input for a microstructure generator (neper.info) to construct the geometry. Finally, the artificially created geometry has to be meshed within COMSOL Multiphysics, requiring JAVA coding for automation.
