Job description
We are seeking an experienced Technology and Development Director to be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of all technology functions across the group. This includes IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, AI deployment, software development, and the optimisation of internal information workflows. You will ensure our systems are future-ready, robust, secure, and designed to empower staff, support residents, and enhance operational efficiency.
The role will require frequent travel to our homes and other sites. Therefore, a driver's licence and (ideally) access to own vehicle is essential., Strategic Leadership
· Define and execute long-term technology strategy aligned with business objectives
· Drive digital transformation across the organisation with a clear roadmap
· Lead the integration and adoption of emerging technologies including AI and data analytics to improve care outcomes and efficiency
IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
· Oversee all IT operations, hardware, networks, security, and support services
· Ensure data protection compliance and cyber-resilience across all digital platforms.
· Implement and manage reliable, scalable IT infrastructure across multiple care homes and the central office
· Software & Systems Development
· Own the end-to-end software stack: EHR (electronic health records), care planning tools, HR systems, finance, scheduling, procurement
· Lead internal and external development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions
AI & Automation
· Identify opportunities to integrate AI for predictive care planning, fall risk analysis, and workflow automation
· Deploy AI solutions to improve staff efficiency and enhance resident care
· Maintain ethical and transparent AI practices
Information Workflow & Digital Processes
· Map and optimise information workflows across care, operations, HR, compliance, and finance
· Lead digital onboarding and training tools for staff
Leadership & Collaboration
· Build and lead a high-performing tech and development team
· Collaborate with care leaders, finance, HR, operations, and compliance to deliver cross-functional improvements
· Manage vendor relationships and procurement of tech solutions
Requirements

· Proven experience (5-10 years) in a senior technology leadership role, ideally in healthcare, social care, or a regulated environment.
· Strong technical knowledge across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI, cloud systems, and custom software development.
· Experience delivering complex digital transformation projects in multi-site organisations.
· Deep understanding of regulatory requirements in care, including data governance.
· Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
· Experience managing budgets, teams, and vendors.
· Full , Clean UK Drivers Licence
· An understanding of and adherence to Caron Group's ethos
. Social / Health care sector experience would be advantageous, * Do you have a proven track record in similar role at Director level?

- Do you have minimum 5 years experience in a senior technology leadership role ideally in healthcare, social care, or a regulated environment?
