Job description
We are seeking a Red Hat SME who has built, run and supported Red Hat environments at scale. This person knows their way around the platform, understands its moving parts and can help teams make sensible technical decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the design and deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
- Maintain and optimise system performance across distributed estates
- Oversee patching, updates and configuration management
- Work closely with security and operations teams to align on risk and compliance
- Support automation and orchestration using Ansible and related tooling
- Assist in troubleshooting and system diagnostics
- Help shape documentation, standards and operational processes, You will operate as a trusted SME in a mature engineering environment. Your opinions will be listened to, not drowned out. You will work with teams that value competence over bravado.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of RHEL environments
- Practical experience with Red Hat tools such as Satellite, Ansible and Podman
- Background in supporting production or business critical Linux systems
- Familiarity with system hardening, patching and general security good practice
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and non-engineering colleagues
Nice to Have
- Industrial or regulated sector experience
- RHCSA, RHCE or similar certifications
- Exposure to OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Basic knowledge of networking and authentication components
