Enjoy a collaborative work environment with great benefits., Our Platform Engineering & IT Operations department provides the data and platform foundation for Zürcher Kantonalbank - secure, scalable, automated, and future-oriented. For the leadership and further development of our data platforms, we are looking for an experienced, technically strong, and strategically thinking personality who wants to shape and modernize our hybrid data landscape Your tasks

• Strategic and operational responsibility for the entire data platform landscape (On-Prem and Cloud), including databases, storage, backup & recovery, and data services
• Building a modern, scalable, and automated data platform stack as a foundation for a hybrid banking architecture
• Consolidating and modernizing existing DB and storage technologies; reducing legacy complexity and redundancies
• Defining and implementing standards for DBaaS, data provisioning, security, compliance, and lifecycle management
• Close collaboration with Compute Platforms, SRE & Automation, as well as Network/Security for a harmonized platform architecture
• Ensuring that data platforms are fully integrable into GitOps/IaC models, observability standards, and golden paths
• Leading and further developing an interdisciplinary engineering team; promoting technical excellence and a culture of responsibility

• Degree in Computer Science or related field; extensive platform management expertise required.
• Deep technical knowledge in cloud databases and storage architectures.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on modern engineering standards., * University degree in computer science, information systems, or a comparable technical field
• Several years of experience in leading complex data or infrastructure platforms - ideally in a hybrid or multi-cloud environment
• Deep technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Cloud DBaaS, storage architectures, backup/recovery
• Solid experience in automation (IaC, GitOps), platform integration, and data-related operational models
• Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and lifecycle requirements in the data environment
• Pronounced leadership strength, high implementation competence, and the ambition to anchor modern engineering standards in a large organization
• Very good German & English skills (at least C1)
