Job description

The Translational Lung Cancer Research Area is made up of 43 researchers, has published 72 articles in 2024, and is mainly focused on developing research in the following areas: Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy, evaluation of the efficacy of new cancer treatments, clinical utility of liquid biopsy, tumor microenvironment, big data and digital transformation, and genetic and environmental factors predisposing to lung cancer.

This contract is funded by the "SHARE: SpanisH cAnceR data spacE" grant/project, financed by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration under file number TSI-100123-2024-3, whose objective is to create a data space dedicated to sharing data from more than lung cancer patients, enabling the creation of artificial intelligence models to advance knowledge of this disease and develop predictive models to aid in its prognosis and survival.

Being part of this project will provide experience in developing interoperable health data spaces for sharing data and collaborating on future research into this and other types of cancer, or other diseases.

The activities to be carried out are those set out in the project report:

  • A5.1 Communication, dissemination, and exploitation of the project

TASKS/FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED:

o Responsible for databases linked to the SHARE project. o Analysis, development, administration, and quality assurance of data. o Data mining using data analysis tools. o Development and implementation of data validation tools and processes. o Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to establish standards for clinical data recording. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to establish standards for clinical data recording. o Data collection, processing, and cleaning. o Identification and evaluation of reliable data sources. o Maintenance of data confidentiality and security o and, in general, whatever else is necessary for the development of the project in accordance with the required qualifications., The maximum score that can be awarded for the assessment of the various merits will be 60 points, which will be given by the sum of the scores obtained in each of the sections:

  • Training: Up to a maximum of 20 points
  • Experience: Up to a maximum of 20 points
  • Specific Requirements: Up to a maximum of 20 points.

The selection body may request any clarifications it deems appropriate from the interested parties regarding the merits claimed. The merits claimed must be possessed by the deadline for submission of applications and must be duly documented in order to be assessed if deemed necessary.

To pass Phase A and move on to Phase B of the interviews, it will be necessary to obtain a score of 30 points or higher.

Phase B: Assessment of skills and interview (maximum 40 points): The interview will cover any aspect related to the applicant's resume and the position to be filled. To pass phase B, it will be necessary to obtain a score of 20 points or higher.

During the evaluation, subjective parameters must also be considered, such as a potentially valuable contribution to the professional development of candidates, especially in the case of researchers, towards a multidimensional career path, such as career breaks or chronological variations in resumes, etc. Once the application period has ended, the provisional list of candidates admitted to Phase A and who will proceed to Phase B (interviews) will be published on the FIBHUPH website: https://investigacionpuertadehierro.com/empleo-y-formacion/. Requirements

  • Master's degree, bachelor's degree with 300 or more ECTS credits, university degree, or equivalent.

  • Experience in database management.

  • Other merits to be assessed:

  • Demonstrable experience in the design, configuration, and management of databases for biomedical research.

  • Knowledge of English (at least level B2 or equivalent).

  • Demonstrable experience in development environments, tools, and languages related to data science.

  • Demonstrable experience in medical oncology research projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of Selene and REDCap., Candidates with qualifications obtained abroad must provide proof of recognition of the qualification or, where applicable, the corresponding certificate of equivalence issued by the competent body., Master Degree or equivalent

Benefits & conditions

  • The contract is for an indefinite period of scientific and technical work.

  • The tasks to be performed are expected to take 12 months.

The duration of the contract is subject to:

a) The completion or termination of the project or phase/work package to which the contract is linked. b) The completion or termination of the financial resources allocated to the project. c) The termination or extinction of the specific line of funding allocated to the hiring of personnel within the project.

  • The gross annual salary is €31,532.12, as established in the Collective Agreement of the Group of Companies of the Biomedical Research Foundations of the II.SS. of Sermas.

  • The working week will be 37.5 hours and participation in other projects will not be permitted.
