Job description

At Micronclean our IT team provides industry-leading technologies to ensure we meet the needs of our internal and external customers, including our own garment management software and a range of web solutions for customer interface.

We're looking for a talented and passionate IT Manager to join our IT team. You will join a team of 8 IT specialists whom provide both hardware and software solutions to our customers. The role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to create, implement and manage an IT strategy within a rapidly developing business.

Duties to include:

  • Lead and deliver an effective, secure and value-adding IT service across the organisation, reducing risk and improving the user experience.

  • Managing, leading and motivating a team of IT professionals including offering support and guidance to "Functional Heads", to ensure overall delivery of IT service.

  • Plan and deliver IT infrastructure and cloud projects on time, within scope and budget.

  • Improve and maintain compliance with Cyber Essentials, GDPR, and internal audit requirements.

  • Oversee procurement, IT asset lifecycle management and IT budget control (capital and P&L).

  • Empower the use of IT through training, knowledge sharing and effective use of hardware, software and data.

  • Resolve complex IT issues using structured problem-solving techniques and drive continuous improvement across all IT processes.

  • Tracking, reviewing and reporting IT performance using metrics/KPIs to inform decision-making.

  • Collaborating with and contributing to the performance of the organisations management team.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Windows server infrastructure, networking, security, virtualisation, backups, cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra) and Active Directory.

  • Proven experience in IT service management and IT service desk leadership.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering end-to-end IT projects.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices.

  • Experience of managing and delivering, end to end IT projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable (candidates will stand out if they have these attributes):

  • Degree (or degree equivalent) in a related subject (e.g. Computer Science or STEM).
  • Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE or role-based equivalents)
  • ITIL 4 certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar Cyber Security based certification.
  • Experience with Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 or other compliance frameworks.
  • Vendor / contract / supplier management experience.
  • Exposure to engineering or manufacturing environments (e.g. PLCs, IoT).

Benefits & conditions

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday; 9.00am to 5.00pm with half an hour unpaid lunch break (possibility to work from home for up to 3 days a week)

SALARY RANGE: £50,000 - £60,000pa (dependent on knowledge and experience) + bonus + PRP + 5% contribution to company pension scheme
