Job description
As a Content Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating clear, user-centred content for our public sector client. You will also have the opportunity to work for other clients in government and the private sector. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver content that is accessible, understandable, and aligned with the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards. Your work will span various projects within the UK Government, requiring a strong understanding of agile methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment. These are important and challenging roles within the Experience Design Team. You will not only shape meaningful services that impact millions, but also grow as a practitioner - deepening your expertise through diverse and stretching challenges, new and varied opportunities, and access to a vibrant community of experienced professionals.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home. You will be unable to work at home 100% of the time and will be expected to work from a Capgemini office a minimum of 2-days a week, and willing to travel as required by the role.
To be considered candidates must be based in the UK and have existing permission to work in the UK. Sponsorship will not be provided. If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
Your role:
The services we co-create are often complex and high-impact - the solutions may not be obvious, and the content landscape can be ambiguous. We're looking for individuals who can bring clarity where there is uncertainty, and who can shape content that empowers users and supports service transformation.
You will be expected to design and deliver clear, accessible, and user-centred content across digital and offline channels. You'll use evidence-based approaches to craft content that meets user needs and aligns with GDS standards. You'll work closely with user researchers, service designers, and interaction designers to ensure content is seamlessly integrated into the overall user experience.
You'll apply a wide range of skills - from developing content strategies and writing for accessibility, to facilitating workshops, presenting to stakeholders, and iterating based on feedback and data. You'll be confident in using insights to inform decisions, and in navigating complex policy or technical subject matter to produce content that is simple and effective.
You'll also be expected to contribute to the wider design community - mentoring others, sharing best practices, and helping to shape the future of content design across Capgemini. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, and be comfortable working across organisational and technical boundaries to deliver impactful services.

- Experience of designing content for government or public services
- Strong knowledge of the GOV.UK service standard
- The ability to develop and manage content that is user-focused, clear, and concise across for digital and offline channels.
- Experience of working closely with user researchers and other design disciplines to understand user needs and ensure content meets those needs.
- Ability to collaborate with service and interaction designers to ensure content is seamlessly integrated into the overall user experience.
- Experience of using data driven insights to inform content design choices
- Experience of creating accessible and inclusive services.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and adapt to iterative feedback.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, present content solutions, and incorporate feedback.
- Develop content strategies that align with project goals and user needs.
- Ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date, and adheres to GDS standards.
- Experience representing design decisions for quality assurance at different stages of the design journey.
Desirable:
- Experience of leading design sessions and integrating diverse perspectives
- Experience of prototyping and iterative design processes
