Job description

We are working with a rapidly growing start-up in the Greater Cambridge area, operating at the forefront of the current landscape of technology and Innovation, as they seek a talented Web Designer with strong front-end development skills to join the marketing and creative team. This is a hands-on, highly creative role 360-degree design role where you'll design, build, and maintain the full digital presence of an ambitious, high-growth company.

What You'll Do - Web Designer

  • Design modern, visually engaging websites, landing pages, and digital assets
  • Create wireframes, mood boards, mock-ups, and high-fidelity layouts
  • Build responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and CMS platforms (WordPress/Joomla)
  • Optimise and update existing pages for usability, performance, accessibility, and SEO
  • Collaborate with marketing and creative partners to deliver digital campaigns and visual storytelling
  • Produce high-quality graphics, animations, and short-form video content
  • Manage website operations, including hosting, domains, testing, and quality checks

Requirements

Are you a visual storyteller who loves transforming ideas into beautiful, engaging digital experiences? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your creativity directly shapes a company's online identity? Do you have extensive experience in HTML, CSS and designing and platforms like WordPress/Joomla? If so, we have a fantastic role for you., * Strong visual design ability with Adobe Creative Cloud expertise

  • Confident front-end skills (HTML, CSS, CMS platforms such as WordPress/Joomla)
  • Ability to turn concepts into intuitive, high-impact website experiences
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently within a small team
  • Full UK driving licence & eligibility to work in the UK

A Bonus

  • Blender or 3D content experience
  • Video or podcast editing skills
  • Knowledge of accessibility, SEO, JavaScript, or analytics tools

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and evolve an entire digital identity within a fast-growing tech start-up environment. As a growing start-up, they're ideally looking for this role to be based on-site, 5 days a week at their Saffron Walden Office.
