Hays is recruiting an IT Support Technician for a client active in the distribution sector. The IT department plays a key role in supporting daily operations and ensuring smooth business processes.
Your new role
As an IT Support Technician, you will provide 1st/2nd line support to internal users. Your responsibilities include:
- Handling incoming tickets via the ticketing system and resolving issues related to hardware, printers, scanners, and telephony.
- Assisting users with Microsoft Windows, Open Office, Thunderbird, and network-related problems (TCP/IP).
- Managing onboarding and offboarding processes: preparing laptops, setting up user access.
- Performing basic troubleshooting for servers and network issues, escalating when necessary.
- Participating in IT projects and contributing to process improvements.
This role is office-based, with no travel required. You will work in a team of three first-line technicians and collaborate closely with system engineers.
Requirements
- Language skills: fluent in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other language. English is not mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree in IT OR equivalent experience.
- At least one year of relevant experience in IT support.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP). Linux knowledge is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, customer-oriented mindset, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and curiosity about new technologies.
