A leading global investment and technology firm is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive Linux experience to join its Platform Engineering team. This is a hands-on technical role within a global cross-platform engineering team responsible for the firm's core technology infrastructure. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and engaging environment. Responsibilities Contribute to the design and maintenance of the firm's global network, operating systems, security policies and infrastructure, as well as core network services across data centres, cloud services and global offices Continuously improve the security framework of a fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure environment that supports investment activity and technology development across the firm Participate in the design, implementation and integration of infrastructure systems, primarily on Linux-based platforms Qualifications At least ten years of relevant work experience and development experience in Python is required; a degree in computer science or another technical discipline is preferred Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with diagnostic tracing tools at both host and network levels, along with in-depth knowledge of Linux-based operating systems and associated configuration management tools Familiarity with automated build, software deployment and CI/CD systems Experience with Rust, Java, C, Go and C# is advantageous, as is experience maintaining infrastructure related to DNS, DHCP and Kerberos Working knowledge of network protocols, information security concepts, databases, large-scale storage and Windows/Linux interoperability is also preferred
