Requirements

  • Operations Analyst - Specialist Non-Bank Lender Location: London Salary: £55,000-£65,000 (flexible depending on experience) Type: Full-time A fast-growing specialist mortgage and property finance lender is seeking a hands-on, technically capable Operations Analyst to support its next stage of growth. The company has recently undergone a strategic merger and is scaling quickly, with a clear ambition to become one of the UK's leading non-bank lenders. With a team of around 45-50 people, this is an environment where you can genuinely influence how things are built, improved and delivered. The culture is collaborative, ambitious, and grounded. Perfect for someone who wants to grow their career while making a meaningful impact. The Opportunity This is a broad, high-exposure role supporting mortgages, bridging, and development finance teams. You'll help shape operational systems, processes and governance as the business continues a major re-platforming of its loans and mortgage origination systems. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to design operational solutions, improve workflows, ensure policies and procedures are up to standard, and help document consistent processes across the business. It's a role for someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic, and comfortable picking up a wide range of work. From systems configuration and Excel modelling through to process mapping, analytics, and helping the business embed effective operational controls. Key Responsibilities * Analyse, improve and deliver operational solutions across mortgages, bridging and finance teams. * Support major systems replatforming projects, including new origination and servicing platforms. * Configure and optimise business systems (fields, calculators, system rules, templates, API data points). * Strengthen governance through improved documentation, policies, controls and process consistency. * Support implementation of new products, pricing changes and operational workflows. * Partner with teams to improve data quality, reporting capability and system usability. * Deliver training to colleagues following system or process changes. Technical & Functional Skills * Advanced Excel capability including complex calculators and modelling. * Strong ability to analyse data, processes and logic. * Exposure to system coding or configuration (JSON, SQL, HTML or similar is beneficial). * Experience working with decision engines such as Lending Metrics (highly desirable). * Ability to build or modify lending decision characteristics, including applying logical rules and working with string conversions to support automated decisions. * Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar analytics tools is advantageous. * Understanding of mortgages, bridging or development finance is helpful but not essential. What You'll Bring * A proactive, "starter-finisher" mindset with the energy to run with tasks independently. * Confidence to challenge, communicate clearly and work across the business. * A personable, approachable style-someone who people enjoy working with. * Curiosity, new ideas and a passion for making systems and processes better. * Typically around 5+ years' experience, though the business is open to more senior candidates. Why Join? * Work at a specialist lender with real ambition and minimal red tape. * High visibility across the business with genuine ownership of operational improvements. * Strong career progression in a growing, forward-thinking environment.
