Job description

The role of the IT Network engineer is to take direction from the Cyber Security Officer to improve the security posture within the Auxitrol Weston group of companies, predominantly around improvements on the network infrastructure, specifically VLAN segregation.

Responsibilities will be predominantly to the UK and Mexico sites but may also have Operating Unit level requirements for global projects.

This person will be located at the Farnborough site but may require travel to other sites to coordinate on projects. This is a hands on role and requires the individual to be onsite., * This role will primarily deliver the VLAN segregation project for the business, within time and quality of service targets and with minimal risk and disruption to the business.

  • Work closely with other IT team members to plan, deploy, co ordinate, expand and support IT network projects on the Farnborough site and remote sites attached to Farnborough.
  • Report project progress periodically to the Cyber Security Officer and flag issues within a timely manner.
  • Participate in meetings and related activities; attend necessary workshops

Requirements

  • Experience in network management and administration (varied network vendors: HPE / Dell / Fortinet)
  • Experience in infrastructure / network deployment and project management
  • Experience in Vmware technology solution would be considered a bonus
  • Experience in firewall management (specifically Fortigate products)

Skills

  • Good communication skills are essential to work with colleagues who may speak English as a second language
  • Great sense of teamwork in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Autonomous and confident, and able to work under minimal supervision
