At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Cloud Operations Specialist to join our UniQue team.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Manage the technical operations of the Open Source Labs.
- Provision and maintain cloud resources, primarily in AWS.
- Install and maintain open-source solutions tested within the labs.
- Propose and implement improvements to streamline lab maintenance.
- Monitor systems for malicious activity, downtime, errors, and overall health.
- Provide technical support to users (e.g., feature exploration, access rights, testing support).
- Provide user support and technical expertise for the self-hosted GitLab instance, ensuring a customer-centric approach.
- Analyse and optimise the performance of information systems.
- Offer support and guidance on CI/CD-related topics.
- Develop in-house solutions based on the department's needs and publish them as part of the open-source portfolio.
- Contribute to internal and external open-source projects when time permits.
Requirements:
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Master's degree in IT and minimum 4 years of relevant experience (or Bachelor's in IT and minimum 7 years of experience).
- Good knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Experience in administering systems in a virtualized Cloud environment.
- Experience in proposing and setting up security and backup policies on the cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in provisioning, configuring, optimising and maintaining cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
- Experience in deploying and troubleshooting applications in the cloud.
- Experience with open source is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Linux.
- Up-to-date experience in some programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP or Ruby.
- Experience working with git platforms such as Gitlab.
- Experience working on large project/services, coupled with experience with large stakeholders' community groups at EU scale.
- Experience in implementing service offerings and working in an ITIL environment will be considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in English language at a minimum B2 level.
