Job description
- Market Analysis & Modeling: Lead and drive research to deeply understand the behavior and interactions of various actors within the crypto market, and translate these insights into sophisticated models for our simulation platform.
- Protocol Deep Dives: Collaborate with leading crypto engineers and product managers to analyze market-leading protocols, generating game-changing insights and predictions.
- Data Insight Generation: Explore new algorithms and techniques to surface critical insights regarding DeFi security and optimization opportunities.
- Data Visualization: Build data models and intuitive visualizations from public blockchain data and simulation results for key customers and internal stakeholders (e.g., protocols like AAVE, Uniswap, and dYdX).
- Research & Communication: Present your insights and strategic suggestions both internally and externally, with opportunities to publish industry-defining research.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outputs and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our core platform.
Requirements
We are seeking a results-driven professional with a strong quantitative trading background and a passion for tackling hard problems in the DeFi space.
- 4+ years of professional experience in Data Science - a must.
- Strong trading background required, including proven experience building models and a deep understanding of derivatives, pricing, financial markets, and systems.
- Previous experience in the FinTech industry.
- Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Hands-on expertise with Python and relevant data science packages (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a genuine passion for DeFi and blockchain technology.
- You thrive in small, dynamic, fast-paced teams that encourage continuous learning and growth.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):
- Prior Web3 experience, including using data tools like Dune or writing smart contracts.
- Deep knowledge of the DeFi landscape and broader crypto/blockchain ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Location: Based in the United States (remote or Brooklyn, NYC office) or Europe.
