Scopely is looking for a highly motivated Storyboard Artist & Animatic Video Artist to join our Marketing team Flamed in Barcelona Office on a Hybrid basis!

We are the in-house creative agency, Flamed, an international multidisciplinary team. We build thousands of creatives every year to support all Scopely games' marketing needs worldwide. You will work on the leading mobile games like Monopoly GO!, Marvel Strike Force, WWE Champions, Star Trek Fleet Command, Stumble Guys, and more to come. What you will do
If you are a visual storyteller with strong drawing skills, a deep understanding of cinematic language, and the ability to translate ideas into clear and dynamic storyboards and animatics, this position is for you!
- Create high-quality storyboards and animatics for trailers, cinematics, UA ads, and marketing videos as well as key-art illustrations across multiple game genres.
- Translate scripts, rough ideas, and briefs into clear visual storytelling, including composition, timing, acting, staging and camera language supported by solid background and perspective execution based on the game design.
- Collaborate in brainstorms, ideation sessions and pitch development to help shape the creative vision of each piece, proactively proposing solutions and alternative options.
- Work closely with the Animation Supervisor, 3D Animation, Model, Rig, and Lighting Leads to plan technical needs and ensure a smooth production pipeline.
- Understand and anticipate 3D asset requirements, helping guide layout, previs and animation decisions.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback and contribute creatively to elevate the emotional impact, clarity and pacing of every sequence.
- Support the creative team by generating shot explorations, camera tests, beat boards and other pre-production materials.
- Maintain consistency in storytelling quality across multiple projects with different tones (epic, cinematic, humorous, casual, etc.).
- Contribute to layout discussions and help direct the visual flow of the piece from early concept to final delivery.
- Collaborate closely with motion teams to ensure timing, transitions and editorial flow are properly represented in the animatic.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in storyboarding, animation, cinematics, advertising or entertainment.
- Strong drawing skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of cinematic language, visual composition, camera terminology, pacing, staging and acting.
- Experience creating animatics with precise timing to guide animation, motion graphics and video editing.
- Good understanding of layout, animation workflows and 3D production pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to different art styles and tones.
- Proficiency in storyboard and animatic tools: Toon Boom, Blender Grease Pencil, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Organized mindset, flexible team player, comfortable working in a constructive cross-feedback environment and delivering quality work under tight deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience with Blender Grease Pencil (strong plus).
- Knowledge of 3D tools (Blender, Maya, Unreal…) to better understand layout and previs.
- Illustration or concept art skills.
- Experience creating UA ads, cinematics or game trailers.
- Familiarity with mobile games and character-driven storytelling.
Experience in mobile games or entertainment is a strong plus.
