Job description

As MES/MOM engineer at GKN Aerospace in Papendrecht, The Netherlands, you will be involved in the Development, Implementation, Validation and Support of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution based on Siemens Opcenter Execution, deployed at sites in the APAC, EU and NA regions., * Support and maintain current MES deployments in multiple Production sites.

  • Package and deploy new GKN customization releases to Test and Production environments.
  • Install/upgrade and configure Opcenter for new implementations and deployments.
  • Set up and maintain integrations with surrounding applications using Opcenter Connect MOM.
  • Understand business processes and functional requirements and convert into technical specifications.
  • Translate functional and design specifications into MES objects: workflows, equipment classes, etc.
  • Develop custom logic when justified by a valid business case and no out of the box solution is available.
  • Define test specifications, participate in tests and validation.
  • Develop tools and templates to speed up the design process, make the support process more efficient and increase application stability and usability.
  • Conduct technical training when required to share development best practices.
  • Function as MES lead engineer in related projects, growing into the role as technical lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience in Windows server administration, application management and configuration including IIS, certificates, services, firewall, Powershell.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and managing applications running as Docker Containers an
  • Extensive experience in Oracle/MS SQL database management and query methods.
  • Experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution (formerly known as Camstar), including Designer, Portal Studio, Opcenter Connect MOM or similar experience.
  • Experience with Mendix development.
  • Knowledge of basic programming languages such as .NET, HTML, C++/C#, XML/XSL/XSD, VB Script.
  • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting applications, ideally in the field of manufacturing or production.
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of software solutions and participating in IT projects.
  • Strong commitment and responsibility to maintain and support production environments.
  • Eagerness to expand current knowledge and learn new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, Dutch would be a plus.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environments, team player.
  • Willingness to travel.
