Job description
Based on the needs of the Survey department, you'll identify the software that needs to be developed. You'll inventory and analyze the required functionality and then be responsible for designing, building, testing, and documenting the software., * Your team: As a developer, you'll be part of the Software Development department within our Central Fleet Support team. We are looking for a team player in a not too large, close-knit team. The department is located at our headquarters in Papendrecht. Because your software users are spread across the globe, you'll occasionally travel abroad for short periods. Your work environment will be both national and international. You'll report to the Software Development Manager.
- Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office.
- Full/part-time job: The position of software developer is a full-time job (40 hours a week).

A certain level of mathematical knowledge will also be useful in this role. Whether it's existing or newly developed technology, you're up to the task. Developments are moving rapidly, and Boskalis is eager to innovate, so we expect you to be flexible and up-to-date on the latest trends in technical software development., * A Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science.
- Preferably 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a similar role where you independently developed (technical) software.
- Knowledge of applied development methods, languages, and tools, such as Linux and C++.
- Demonstrable experience with object-oriented information analysis, software design, development, and documentation.
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable working abroad for short periods.
Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Dredging processes and equipment or the maritime sector.
- Hydrography and/or survey instrumentation, equipment, and methods.
- Data processing and visualization.
- GIS system, Lua and CAD systems.
You communicate effortlessly at various levels and are capable of thinking outside the box. Working under pressure is no problem for you; the software you develop is often crucial for delivering survey data on time, making it essential to ensure this process runs smoothly and quickly.
