Data Engineer

models Implement business logic, checks and other processes bringing data into the right format and quality Optimize data processes: Develop, manage, optimize, verify and test code used for data processing Conduct data quality assessments: Ensure data accuracy and reliability through regular assessments and improvements Mentor data team members: Guide and support junior analysts and engineers with best practices Analyze large datasets: Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights and recommendations for internal stakeholders. Prepare reports & presentations: Communicate findings to stakeholders in a structured, clear and concise manner (For example with PowerBI, Tableau) Stakeholder Management: Proactively cooperate with various departments for design & implementation. Data Strategy Strategy: Support with the development and implementation of our data strategy Governance: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify data needs and establish data

governance frameworks Organization Promote company culture: Embody and promote the entrepreneurial spirit within the organization Maintain strong internal relationships: Collaborate with departments such as Head Pricing, Business Services and Operational departments. Education & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT/Data/Software Engineering/Data Science/ Computer Science or related field More than 3 years of professional experience, ideally 3-5 years, in enterprise data platform engineering, in the insurance, finance or similar domain. Very good programming skills in Python, PySpark and T-SQL. Knowledge of scripting languages. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services: Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus Experienced in data integration (ETL/ELT), data management, data modelling and building scalable data pipelines Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GIT, etc.) Knowledge of different data structures, algorithms, storage systems and cloud infrastructures Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. You have knowledge of the Dutch Income insurance market or are willing to grow your knowledge on this area. Languages Fluent in English and Dutch
