This role is hands-on, varied, and gives you the chance to work across infrastructure, applications, and networks - no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing

  • Escalation point for 1st Line issues, ensuring problems are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and end-user devices.
  • Troubleshooting networking technologies (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs).
  • Maintaining and optimising critical systems that keep manufacturing operations running smoothly.
  • Assisting with IT projects - including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and system rollouts.
  • Producing clear documentation for systems, assets, and incidents.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in 2nd Line IT Support (manufacturing or fast-paced environments a bonus).
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows 10/11, Server, O365, AD).
  • Networking know-how - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to support colleagues at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence (occasional travel may be required).

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary up to £36,000 depending on experience.
  • A stable, established employer in the manufacturing sector.
  • On-site role with plenty of variety day to day.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
  • Pension scheme and additional company perks.

If you're ready to take ownership of IT support in a busy, hands-on environment and want to see the direct impact of your work, this could be the perfect next step.
