Job description

Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a full time Academy Match Analyst to join the department at our training ground facility at Clayton Wood in Trent Vale. The position requires a commitment to working within the Club's Category One status Academy.

You will report to the Lead Academy Match Analyst, assisting a progressive and enthusiastic Academy Match Analysis department. You will provide support to all Academy teams, across all areas of analysis, specifically the U9s-U16s.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Covering all analysis needs including but not limited to:
  • Filming (wide angle) games and training.
  • Live and post event coding (using SportsCode and Hudl).
  • Creating pre match and post match clips.
  • Undertaking opposition analysis.
  • Uploading videos to Hudl.
  • Creating clips that relate to the Academy's playing philosophy.
  • Creating best practice clips.
  • Supporting the PDP phase when required.
  • Supporting the Head of Academy Coaching with coach analysis.
  • Filming and coding sessions that are used for staff CPD.
  • Maintaining Academy match analysis databases.

Requirements

  • IT literate, specifically with the use of Apple MacBooks, Keynote, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and iMovie.
  • Experience of using performance analysis equipment (e.G. camera) and filming wide angle.
  • Experience of using SportsCode and Hudl.
  • Outstanding knowledge of football.
  • Experience of working in a professional football club.
  • Experience using Wyscout.
  • Hold a football coaching badge.
  • Full and clean UK driving licence.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree, preferably in a sports related course.

  • Strong desire to pursue a career in the football industry.
  • Committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated.
  • Ability to work as part of the Academy Match Analysis team, as well as other departments within the Academy.
  • Positive and professional attitude, with an ability to meet the deadlines of the weekly match analysis requirements.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

The positions will be offered on a full time permanent basis. All relevant training will be provided.
