Job description
To support increasing expansion and demand for Trueform's award winning products and services, we require a high calibre Senior Design Engineer to design and develop mobility infrastructure, wayfinding and digital signage, creating all technical manufacturing data for production on site or with our suppliers.
You will have the opportunity to develop products end to end, which are used by millions of people every day and would be joining a small, friendly team. You will work closely with and learn from a variety of highly skilled, experienced teams and inspiring leaders.
You will be responsible for solving engineering problems, completing projects on-time, within budget, and performing to high standards of quality, whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement within the design team.
Responsibilities & Duties
Your main responsibilities and duties will include:
- Solving engineering challenges, creating detailed designs and technical drawings including; manufacturing, client approval, assembly, and installation drawings.
- Creation of Bill of Materials (BOM's) in collaboration with electronic/electrical engineering team
- Following document control requirements within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) utilizing the Trueform PDM system (Design Data Manager)
- Resolving challenges in a proactive manner, including those related to client brief, manufacture, install, procurement, quality, cost and time.
- Ensuring the product is developed within the budget and within time allowed.
- Reporting the progress of design activity to management, flagging any risks to completing tasks; on time, on budget, and to an acceptable quality.
- Coordinating with all departments to ensure designs are manufacturable, transportable, installable and maintainable.
- Liaising with internal production to ensure the smooth running of the design for manufacturing process.
- Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of design and quality systems.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card, Construction Skills Certification Scheme certification?, Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, To succeed in this role you will need to be someone who:
- Has strong experience in design engineering, mechanical structures and CAD
- Is competent using Microsoft Office software, with excellent computer skills.

Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications and experience:
Mandatory
- Previous experience working on architectural metalwork and fabrication designs.
- Experience working in a Senior or Lead role and within a similar environment
- High level of expertise in AutoDesk Inventor, Advance Steel and/or Solid Works
Preferred
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- CSCS Card
- CDM Training

- Competitive salary of £45,000 to £55,000 per annum.
- Working Pattern: 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
