Vacancy: Senior Technology Technician
Start date: As soon as possible
Contract details: Permanent, Part Time, 22 Hours Per Week, Term Time Only, 39 Weeks Per Year
Salary details: Grade 5 SCP 7-11, FTE Salary - £26,403 - £28,142, Pro-rata salary - £13,551.63 - £14,770.84
About Us
Kinver High School is seeking to appoint a passionate and skilled Senior Technology Technician to support our thriving Design & Technology department from September 2025.
This is an exciting role for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a creative and committed department, which fully integrates computer aided design and manufacture into projects whilst maintaining a productive workshop environment in which students thrive. The successful candidate will support the delivery of the D&T curriculum through ensuring tools, equipment, machinery and materials are safely maintained and ready for use whilst offering practical support to teachers in terms of resource preparation and students in the workshop and CAD/CAM suite. For the right candidate relevant training can be provided. The successful candidate will:
- Support learning and progress of students in design and technology.
- Have a proven track record of working with relevant tools and equipment and a good level of technical and 'hands-on' knowledge in the design and technology discipline.
- Have an awareness of Health and Safety issues and experience of H&S and COSHH risk assessment.
- Help the teachers with practical classes and to ensure the equipment is used correctly and safely by students.
- Have previous experience in a similar role, with a proven record of effective liaison with students.
- Have some experience of working with CAD/CAM as support with laser cutting and 2D printing.
