Job description
We're expanding our Maintenance Team and are looking for a Technical Lead Engineer who can bring expertise, leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional service across our portfolio of heat network sites.
As our Technical Lead Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the day-to-day delivery of maintenance and support services across heating, cooling, ventilation, metering, PAYG and related IT systems. You'll be the go-to technical expert for Heat Interface Units (HIUs), smart metering systems, and wider energy network equipment, supporting engineers, improving performance, and ensuring safe, compliant, high-quality work.
This is a hands-on role where your technical knowledge, leadership skills, and problem-solving ability will directly influence operational success, first-time fix rates, and customer satisfaction., * Primary Location: Field-based, working across Greater London, with occasional meetings in the London (WeWork, Moor Place) and Peterborough (Stuart House) offices.
- Working Hours:
- 37.5 hours per week.
- 7.5 hours per day - Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 20:00.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card, Construction Skills Certification Scheme certification?, Do you have experience in Supervising experience?, * Level 2 Plumbing or equivalent Ability to demonstrate knowledge of how to change heat meters and fault finding and repairing Heat Interface Units.
- Independent Worker: Confident in working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Skills: Competent in the use of laptops/tablets for system configurations and reporting (training provided).
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
- IT Troubleshooting: Good all-around IT troubleshooting skills.
- CSCS Card: Must hold a valid CSCS card (or be able to obtain one)., * Pipework/pipefitting skills
- Gas Safe (ideally commercial)
- Past leadership skills. Project lead or supervisory experience.
- Electrical and IT Knowledge: Electrical Part P certification, 18th edition and wiring regs.
- Technical Proficiency: Competent using a Multimeter, as well as other electrical and IT equipment.
- Smart Metering Experience: Previous experience with smart metering systems, RF networks, or similar field-based technologies is preferred.
- Health and Safety Certification: A health and safety qualification is desirable.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear Driving Licence: A valid, clear UK driving licence. Or minimal points.
- DBS Clearance: Basic DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Work Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- References: Two satisfactory professional references.
