Job description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Applications Analyst to join our team with experience in deploying, managing and supporting business applications. As part of the Cloud Applications team, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day administration, development and support of our key services reporting into the Cloud Applications Manager.
The team is a part of an IT department based in our Shared Service Centre, Hinckley, Leicestershire and office travel will be required at least once a week.
This role is varied and will involve providing system support, resolving escalated calls from the service desk, BAU operations and a range of project work. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required for application upgrades, security patching and other planned changes.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Administration and support of our existing business applications, running on Microsoft technologies including Azure, Windows Server, Entra, Active Directory and SQL Server
- Provide user support through our ServiceNow ticketing system, ensuring incidents and tasks are seen through to resolution
- Assist and run with the installation and setup of new applications based on business needs and see projects through to completion
- Keep support documentation updated, organised and to a good standard within our information store
- Monitor business applications, apply updates and security patches and report any issues back to the Cloud Applications Manager
- Develop problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions clearly to non-technical users
- Work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners to resolve technical problems
- Log application change requests through ServiceNow and attend weekly change board meetings to present and seek approval
- Show good judgment and attention to detail, especially when handling user requests and resolving technical concerns
- Maintain ethical standards and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Continue to develop technical skills and grow within the role

Requirements
- Previous experience supporting business applications running on virtual architecture
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra, SSO and Networking
- Experience with application installation, configuration, upgrades and security patching
- Understanding of SQL Server IaaS and PaaS with a willingness to develop further
- General awareness of networking principles and troubleshooting techniques
- Exposure to Service Management tools like ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- A good understanding of change control and systems governance processes
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive approach
- Ability to multi-task and work both independently and collaboratively within a team Ability to remain calm and focused when handling technical challenges in high-pressure situations
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Exposure to other cloud platforms beyond Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of IT infrastructure deployment, including experience with various virtualisation technologies
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management Experience working in a multi-company or shared services environment, adapting to different IT landscapes
