Job description
The Senior Network Engineer will take a lead role in the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support of complex network and security environments. You will mentor colleagues, contribute to best practices, and help shape technical standards while working closely with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders., * Act as a trusted technical advisor and Senior Network Engineer for enterprise customers
- Design, implement, and support secure, resilient network solutions
- Operate as a subject matter expert, reviewing and improving solution designs
- Lead complex network and security implementations, including testing and change control
- Deliver LAN, WAN, WLAN, data centre, and security solutions aligned to best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations
- Produce high-quality technical and design documentation
- Collaborate with vendors and partners on emerging technologies
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota
- Contribute to innovation, service improvement, and knowledge sharing across the team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer or equivalent enterprise role
- CCNP-level networking expertise (certification or demonstrable experience)
- CCSP-level security knowledge (certification or demonstrable experience)
- Strong experience with Cisco technologies: LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDA, SD-WAN, ISE, DNAC, ACI
- Experience with Fortinet technologies: FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiWireless, FortiSASE
- WAN technologies including MPLS, Internet, L2VPNs, and access technologies
- Cyber security solutions: firewalls, IPS, UTM/UTP, SASE, ZTNA, cloud security
- Enterprise customer-facing experience (commercial, public sector, or government)
- Strong documentation skills using Visio, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience
- Advanced Cisco or Fortinet certifications
- Software-defined networking (SD-WAN, SDA)
- Scripting and automation (Python, Ansible)
- Public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience in managed services or support environments
