Job description

The main purpose of this role is to help invent the company's new global data platform from the ground up, based on Microsoft Fabric. You will assist in its build, implementation, and evolution as a core member in the BI Delivery group.

This is a greenfield environment with significant architectural and data challenges, where the successful candidate will play a key role in establishing a scalable, governed, and future-ready data foundation that enables consistent reporting and analytics across Finance, Operations, and other business functions.

Committed to the entire data engineering lifecycle, the role includes data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and platform optimization. It also involves collaborating with BI and business collaborators to enable semantic models and reporting via Power BI. In parallel, the role helps define guidelines, governance standards, and reusable components. This happens as the organization moves from fragmented legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based global data architecture.

Furthermore, the role will be involved in expansive technology and business endeavours. It will bring data engineering capabilities to support projects spanning multiple functions. The position will also embed analytics within operational and strategic processes organization wide.

Microsoft Fabric & Data Engineering

  • Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines (Fabric Data Factory / Dataflows).

  • Develop and optimize Lakehouse and Data Warehouse structures.

  • Build semantic models, DAX measures, and implement RLS/OLS.

  • Supervise Fabric performance, capacity, and storage usage. Semantic Modelling & BI Enablement

  • Create and maintain semantic models, DAX measures, and RLS/OLS.

  • Ensure datasets are reusable, governed, and aligned with business definitions.

  • Enable Power BI reporting through clean, well-structured data models. BI Delivery & Teamwork

  • Work as part of the squad responsible for BI Delivery, participating in all sprint ceremonies.

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and data models. Data Governance & Quality

  • Apply governance standards, documentation, and data quality checks.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in Power BI development (DAX, data modeling, standard methodologies).

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or Azure Synapse, Data Factory).

  • Knowledge of SQL for data modeling, transformations, and performance tuning.

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, fact/dimension modeling).

  • Familiarity with security models within Power BI/Fabric, including RLS and OLS.

  • Experience connecting ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365) is a strong advantage.

  • exposure to Agile delivery models in data or BI environments.

  • Microsoft Fabric or Power BI certifications are a plus (e.g. DP-600, PL-300) Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical partners.

  • Clear communication skills, especially for explaining sophisticated concepts in simple terms.

  • Highly organized, meticulous, and able to prioritize effectively
