£575 per day GBP Remote WORKING Type: Contract Principal AWS DevOps Engineer - SC Cleared Contract Length: Initial 6-month engagement Rate: £575 p/d Inside IR35 Start Date: Approx. 6 weeks (subject to clearance transfer) Location: Remote with occasional London site visits Clearance: Must hold active SC Clearance Role Overview We are seeking a Principal AWS DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of end-to-end DevOps processes for large-scale, mission-critical systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will leverage your deep AWS expertise, automation skills, and CI/CD experience to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions. efficiency. Design and implement advanced CI/CD pipelines for complex cloud solutions. Act as a trusted technical advisor, influencing architectural decisions. Lead technical discussions and set DevOps standards across teams. Automate repetitive tasks, remediate technical debt, and optimise workflows. Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing. Stay ahead of emerging cloud technologies and DevOps trends. Key Qualifications 10+ years in AWS cloud provisioning and management for large-scale environments. Deep expertise across AWS services: Compute, Networking, Security, Containers, and more. Strong experience with Java application development. Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK). Proficiency with containerisation (Docker, EKS/ECS) and orchestration. Expert in CI/CD tools (AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions). Solid background in networking and Linux/Windows administration. Skilled in monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Datadog). Proven leadership in high-pressure, complex environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Nice to Have AWS certifications. Experience with configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
