Job description

As a Data Centre Engineer, you will deliver IMACD and incident resolution services within workplace technologies and data centre operational environments.

The duties range from small alterations such as patching and fault finding to performing large-scale equipment and device refreshes including new installs, decommissions, moves, and maintenance functions.

Data Centre Engineers work on shifts that contribute towards providing support services 24x7x365 and report to the local Service Delivery Manager.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 Days on, 4 Days off
  • 12-hour shifts (7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am), * Change control management
  • Incident management and resolution
  • Management and tracking of assets
  • Supervision and escorting of 3rd-party vendors
  • Installation and decommissioning of network hardware and structured cabling
  • Compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Adherence to manufacturers', client, and quality standards
  • Following client and support services approved processes

Requirements

Working within a prestigious client data centre, the position is highly customer-focused and requires strong attention to client requirements., * Experience of working in high-risk environments and data centres

  • Willingness to travel when required
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts
  • Competence in MS Office and helpdesk/service delivery applications
  • Reliability and consistency in approach
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility towards shift patterns
  • Clear and professional communication skills at all levels
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
