We are currently recruiting for a IT Support Engineer to join our team. This is a key, hands-on role, that is essential in ensuring that hardware, software and network systems operate efficiently, securely and reliably to support our business operations., As our IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation and maintenance of the organisations IT and telephone systems.

- Provide support to the Facilities & Procurement Manager, The IT Support Engineer is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's It and telephone systems. This role ensures that hardware, software, and network systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support business operations. This includes hands on database management of our core systems such as Sage and Alphalogix.
IT Project Management of new installs both in hard and soft infrastructure.
To Manage the company's fleet of vehicles.
To provide support to the Facilities and Procurement Manager.
Principal Elements
System Administration:
Support and maintain company hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Maintenance and support of the Companies Telephone network both VoIP and Cellular
Technical Support:
Provide first- and second-level technical assistance to staff (in-person, remote, or via helpdesk). Diagnose and resolve computer, printer, and network-related issues promptly.
Network & Security:
Assist with configuration and maintenance of LAN/WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks. Help ensure data security, backups, and disaster recovery procedures are in place and assessed via desktop exercises. Monitor user access and system permissions according to company policies.
Software & Hardware Management:
Install, configure, and update software applications. Manage hardware inventory, procurement, and equipment lifecycle. To maintain the Company's software library whilst ensuring that the Company always remains compliant with all software licensing laws. To set up and maintain a database of all Company hardware and its current users.
Vendor Coordination:
Consult with external IT vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance contracts.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain IT documentation including network diagrams, user guides, and asset records. Prepare periodic reports on IT operations, issues, and performance metrics.
Project Management:
Assist in the rollout of new technologies, systems upgrades, or infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support and system administration
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Windows/macOS operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience with active directory, file servers, and backup solutions.
- Proficient with Windows/macOS operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Workspace)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Collaborative team player with clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to manage own workload.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, or ITIL, To look after the company car fleet alongside Fleet Admin, including lease company management.Experience:Proven experience in IT supp ort, system administration, or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Windows/macOS operating systems and Microsoft 365.
