Job description
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop systems, software, and hardware.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.
- Manage and resolve incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of IT services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and security standards.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives as required.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users to enhance their understanding of IT systems. Person Specifications Must Have
Requirements

Proven experience in a desktop support or similar IT support role.

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Right to work in the UK and all necessary documentation to verify this.

Two written employment references, including one from the most recent employer covering at least six months.

Fit for work/medical clearances and criminal convictions declaration. Nice to Have

Experience working in a public sector or council environment.

Familiarity with NEPO (North East Procurement Organisation) processes and compliance requirements.

Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar.
