Job description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Engineer to provide comprehensive technical support within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing computer systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong analysis abilities, and a solid understanding of various operating systems and network components to support end-users effectively., * Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices, and operating systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure and support Microsoft Office applications, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and other network services.
- Support computer networking tasks such as LAN/WAN management, network administration, and troubleshooting TCP/IP connectivity issues.
- Utilize tools like SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for ticketing, deployment, and asset management.
- Assist with IT infrastructure management including Windows Server environments and related services.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations to maintain system integrity.
- Document support activities accurately in help desk systems and communicate effectively with end-users regarding issue resolution.
- Participate in the maintenance of security protocols including firewall configurations and VPN access controls.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Desktop support?, * Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various operating systems including Windows (Microsoft Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
- Solid understanding of computer management practices including hardware repair and configuration.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls, SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, LAN/WAN networks.
- Knowledge of network administration concepts such as TCP/IP stack configuration and DNS management.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components including servers and mobile device management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively assist end-users and document technical issues clearly.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems quickly and implement effective solutions.
