Job description

We are working with a growing IT Managed Services provider who are looking to appoint a Data Analyst to join their data team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is well suited to someone with 1-2 years' experience who is looking to further develop their technical and analytical skills within a supportive, technology-driven environment.

The successful candidate will support the analysis of internal operational data and customer-linked datasets, helping the business gain meaningful insights and improve decision-making.

You will work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring data is accurate, well-structured, and presented in a clear and accessible way., * Support the analysis of internal and customer-related datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to support reporting and analytical requirements
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory
  • Contribute to data warehousing initiatives, supporting data accuracy and consistency
  • Translate business requirements into clear reports and visualisations
  • Help maintain data quality, governance, and security best practices
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support data-driven decision making

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including:
  • Writing queries with joins
  • Basic query optimisation
  • Exposure to CTEs and window functions
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, including:
  • Building reports and dashboards
  • Basic data modelling (relationships, star schema awareness)
  • Creating DAX measures and calculations
  • Some experience or exposure to Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tools
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Ability to analyse datasets and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience within an IT Managed Services or technology-focused organisation

  • Exposure to Azure data platforms such as Azure SQL or Synapse

  • Awareness of data governance, compliance, or data quality principles, * Opportunity to develop skills in Power BI, SQL, and Azure technologies
