Join the "Settlement Roadmap" team within GBS, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping IT solutions for securities settlement across global markets. As part of a system considered the heart of Euroclear, your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of critical financial infrastructure., As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader, collaborating with Solution Architects to evolve high-level solution designs into detailed, implementable software architectures. You will ensure the successful delivery of resilient, scalable, and high-performing systems., * Lead the design and implementation of complex software solutions aligned with business objectives and technical standards.
- Co-create pragmatic and resilient solution architectures with Solution Architects, refining epic-level designs into actionable features.
- Validate and challenge architectural decisions to ensure feasibility and delivery alignment.
- Drive end-to-end software delivery-from design through deployment-ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Contribute to the evolution of engineering practices, including reusable patterns, frameworks, and tools.
- Act as a bridge between business and IT, ensuring solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in enterprise-scale systems.
- Proven leadership in large-scale transformation projects (€10M+), ideally in Financial Services.
- Expertise in IBM Mainframe and Java or .NET stacks, with strong knowledge of APIs, integration mechanisms, and data technologies.
- Experience with Azure, Kafka, and Linux-based Java development is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to navigate complexity and align diverse stakeholders.
- Autonomous, pragmatic, and delivery-focused, with a bias for action and fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Experienced in Agile operating models and frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
