Job description

We are looking for a Full stack Java developer for the team working on a key feature for the Rabo business banking platform. In this role we not only expect you to show us your best coding skills, but also to guide the team, bring structure where needed and to have an eye for overall quality. This includes the DevOps responsibility and working together with the other developers to stand for the overall quality of the products and services we deliver. A strong architectural view and being able to spar with our solution architect are a must.

You are outspoken, dare to take responsibility and challenge your teammates and the squad triangle. You have organisational sensitivity and are good in collaborating with teams across the bank to build common solutions for common problems. A good eye for standardisation and simplification is highly appreciated.

Top responsibilities

  • Build and evolve RESTful APIs and microservices with Kotlin/Java and Spring Boot to power secure authorization journeys across channels.
  • Automate CI/CD, testing (unit, integration, performance), monitoring, and alerting to improve reliability for high availability services.
  • Collaborate across squads, product owners, and architects to standardize and simplify authorization capabilities for bank wide reuse.
  • You design, build, test, and operate services in Kotlin/Java with Spring Boot on Azure Cloud Foundry, owning DevOps for secure, reliable, authorization journeys.

Your Squad

Squad Muppets is responsible for multiple applications related to user-authorizations.

We own customer journeys in the RBB environment for adding new users, setting authorizations based on roles, accounts, and entities.

The domain we work in is complex and challenging because of high load and strict security requirements for our customer journeys. We strongly prefer candidates who have full stack development experience, building especially using the ROP stack. Having prior experience in building apps for Rabobank's online journeys is favourable.

  • SAST and code quality: Fortify, Checkmarx, PMD, Sonar, NexusIQ, Team Muppets has a high availability application which means we are responsible for keeping them up and running and stable. You will be required to be on standby on weekday nights and over the weekend, this task is rotated among our team members.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
  • 6+ years of experience building applications with common web technologies (Kotlin, Java and Spring Boot)
  • Attention to detail is an important skill required to build our complex authorization journeys.
  • Excellent communication skills (Technical and otherwise) and stakeholder management: Fluent English is a must

  • Salary: Gross monthly salary between EUR 4,931 and EUR 7,043 (scale 09) for a 40-hour work week.
