Lead Field Services Performance Analyst

The Lead Field Services Performance Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the meter reading operations. The role involves performance analysis of the meter reading department identifying opportunities for service improvement and highlighting potential risks.

A key focus of the role will be to investigate and analyse skip codes and long unread meters. This will entail working with relevant teams to resolve underlying issues and reduce the unread volumes, mitigating potential compensation payments to customers under the GSS scheme.

This role is responsible for analysing and improving meter reading routes, identifying opportunities to relocate meters within reading schedules to improve efficiency. The role requires a strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets and drive data informed decisions. The role also includes ongoing route maintenance as a business-as-usual activity, ensuring meters are correctly assigned to the most efficient routes to maintain optimal performance. A key part of the role involves engaging with internal stakeholders to gain approval for proposed meter relocations, clearly communicating the rationale and potential impacts, and ensuring alignment across departments for successful implementation.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of current meter reading routes using performance data to identify inefficiencies, overlaps, and opportunities for improvement
• Use data-driven approaches to redesign routes that minimize travel time, reduce costs, and improve productivity
• Assess the impact of relocating these meters and develop strategic, phased relocation plans which align with operational capabilities and consider the impact to customers
• Produce analysis to assist with reducing volumes of long unread meters and skip code analysis to assist with improving read rates
• Provide regular insights and recommendations to management to support continuous improvement in the Field Services Department

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills with excellent Excel knowledge
• Experience of Alteryx preferable with ability to query various datasets
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Previous analytical experience essential
• Good understanding of the Meter Reading Support Services function and its key procedures and performance metrics
• Good working knowledge of core systems including Temetra, Walto and Alto
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present findings with confidence at all management levels
• Experience of extracting and manipulating large volumes of data from core operational systems and translating into operational reports
• Flexibility to switch task and multitask at short notice
• Personally organised with a structured and logical approach and a strong team working ethic
• Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
