Do you want your data science work to matter beyond dashboards and experiments? As a Senior Data Scientist Transaction Monitoring at Rabobank, your models help detect financial crime and protect millions of customers. This is a role where analytics directly contributes to societal impact.
Your impact Rabobank processes transactions for more than 8 million customers every day. You will design and improve analytics models that identify money laundering and terrorist financing. By reducing false positives and strengthening detection quality, you enable analysts to focus on real risks and meaningful investigations.
Your role As a Senior Data Scientist, you take end-to-end ownership of (parts of) the Transaction Monitoring analytics landscape. You combine strong statistical and data science expertise with pragmatic execution and clear communication toward IT, architecture, business and senior stakeholders.
You work in multidisciplinary teams on both optimizing existing rule-based models and shaping the longer-term transition toward more advanced analytics and machine learning. The goal is not complexity, but effectiveness, robustness and explainability. What you will do
- Design, build and maintain data science models from concept to production, including high-quality, production-ready code.
- Identify and integrate new data sources to improve transaction monitoring effectiveness.
- Anticipate future technical and analytical challenges and proactively propose solutions.
- Act as a content expert and sparring partner for senior stakeholders and management.
- Coach and mentor medior and junior data scientists and promote best practices across the team.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Spark?, * An academic degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Mathematics or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in advanced analytics or data science in complex data environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark and Spark. Experience with Azure Databricks is a plus.
- Proven experience in bringing analytics models into production and maintaining them at scale.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills toward both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring other data scientists.
Benefits & conditions
Salary indication: € 5.100,00 - € 7.150,00. Contract: A contract for at least one year. Extra: A 13th month and pension contribution.
