Job description
This position involves providing comprehensive general ICT support and service management for schools contracted to ICTtechie LTD within Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless technical operations, which includes regular travel between schools to provide essential on-site support and troubleshooting., * Contract Type: Part-Time, or Ad-Hoc arrangements available with a vision for an increase in hours to Full-Time., * Maintaining and Updating Servers, Workstations, Mobile Devices, Display Technologies, and Printing systems both on-site and remotely.
- Basic maintenance of the network infrastructure, including switches and WiFi.
- Basic Maintenance and management of CCTV and telephone systems.
- Maintenance and management of print services for schools.
- Management of web-based/cloud services, including internet filtering and monitoring systems.
Technical Support:
- Installation of new hardware and software.
- Diagnosing and Resolving Technical issues with the school's ICT systems.
- Remotely supporting schools via telephone, email, and remote connections to clients' devices.
- Running the 1st line of support during agreed periods to cover the company directors.
Administration & Liaising:
- Liaising with ICT companies providing services to the school as required.
- Guidance document creation when required.
- Ensuring the job tickets for each school are kept up to date, and clients are informed of job status.
- Other technical or company support as directed by the company directors.
Requirements

- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnostic and problem-solving skills across Microsoft, Apple & Google operating systems, server management and cloud platforms. Basic understanding of network infrastructure.
- Security: Understanding of best practices for securing endpoints, user accounts, and server infrastructure.
- Documentation: Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for system configurations and procedures.
DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS
Microsoft Cloud Identity & Endpoint Management
- Proficiency in managing user identities, access, and security policies.
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) to deploy, configure, and secure devices and applications.
- Ability to configure conditional access and compliance policies.
Microsoft 365 Admin Console
- Familiarity with managing Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and licensing.
Apple Device Management
- Skill in deploying, managing, and securing Apple devices (iPads and MacBooks) in an educational environment.
- Experience with Apple School Manager (ASM) integration, app deployment, and profile configuration.
Apple Devices (iPads, Macbooks):
- Knowledge of macOS and iPadOS configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Google Cloud and Device Management
- Expertise in managing Google Workspace users, groups, security settings, and services.
- Ability to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Chromebook devices via the Google Admin Console.
Microsoft Operating Systems & Servers
- Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
- Skill in server patching, backup, and recovery procedures.
Windows Laptops:
- Expertise in deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows operating systems and hardware.
- Knowledge of imaging, patching, and software deployment methods.
Network Management
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of managed switches, VLANs, and wireless controllers.
Audio-Visual (AV) Equipment
- Experience with the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of common school AV equipment, such as projectors, interactive whiteboards, interactive TVs, and sound systems.
Printing Systems
- Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network and standalone printers, including driver management and print server administration.
BACKGROUND CHECKS & TRAINING
Due to the nature of the job, a full enhanced DBS check will take place along with right to work checks. Essential safeguarding and prevent training will also be provided, along with health and safety and on-the-job technical training.
Benefits & conditions
- Duration: Initially a temporary contract until August 2026, with a vision for the role to become permanent.
- Schedule: This is a term-time position covering 39 weeks per year.
- Leave: Non-essential leave must be taken during school holidays. An extra 6 weeks of pay is given per year to cover holiday pay.
- Overtime: Opportunities for overtime during school non-term time (school holidays) to assist with installations and preparations for new terms.

- Pay & Hours: Negotiable based on your specific level of experience. Pay is added up and divided across the months to give a more stable salary.
