Job description

The Business Technology practice is one of the leading CIO & CTO advisory and technology innovation teams in the UK and Europe. Our consultants deliver tangible outcomes across business and IT-oriented environments, working collaboratively with major FTSE 100 and government clients to help them achieve their strategic goals and leverage technology as a key driver of sustainable growth and ambitious change. YOUR ROLE Our IT Strategy & Performance team is one of the fastest growing teams in the Business Technology practice. We are structured across three core disciplines: (i) Technology Strategy; (ii) IT Cost & Value; and (iii) IT Mergers and Acquisitions. We are seeking Consultant level candidates with the experience to deliver across our three core disciplines. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in at least one of our disciplines and authentic enthusiasm for developing their breadth of skills and knowledge further. You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of sectors and projects. The responsibilities of the Consultant role in IT Strategy & Performance typically includes:

  • Client delivery, owning distinct packages of work, self-organising and prioritising your tasks to deliver on client commitments within complex technology engagements.
  • Building personal credibility with clients through delivery of outcomes and communication.
  • Identifying and communicating potential leads and preparing proposal and sales materials.
  • Contributing to the development of our offerings and supporting capability building within the IT Strategy & Performance team as we grow our offers and offer pipelines.
  • Developing expertise and informed points of view on emerging technologies and digital capabilities: AI, advanced analytics, cybersecurity and cloud-native architectures - evaluating scalability, interoperability, and alignment with the client's long-term strategy.
  • Building broad skills across our core disciplines and deepening expertise within at least one.

As part of your role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development - Contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution - Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development - Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Requirements

Do you have experience in IT?, * Consulting experience across Technology Strategy and/or IT Cost & Value.

  • Evidence of strong track record delivering within Digital Strategy & Transformation projects and/or technology cost transformation.
  • Evidence of developing technical and strategic expertise that is relevant to our core disciplines, this may include Technology Strategy, Target Operating Model Design, Transformation Roadmapping, Business-IT Alignment, IT Financial Management, Total Cost of Ownership, Application Portfolio Rationalisation, Benchmarking and Optimisation.
  • Experience in identifying real application of technology to drive value from investments.

Desirable Experience

  • Proven ability to deliver technology strategy engagements and/or cost and value engagements
  • Currently working in a consulting firm, and/or in industry with a consulting background or in an internal strategy function.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and in supporting business development through preparation of proposals and/or client pitches.
  • Experience of supporting proposition (offer) building/development and growth.
