Job description

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our team, based from our Manchester head office, with regular travel required to project sites in Coldstream and Kilmarnock.

This is a key role supporting live projects and senior project teams, requiring a proven Document Controller who can confidently manage complex document workflows, maintain strict version control, and ensure full compliance with project and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the document control process across multiple projects
  • Manage and maintain electronic and hard-copy document control systems
  • Upload, issue, track, and archive all project documentation
  • Ensure documents meet company, client, and project-specific requirements
  • Maintain accurate document registers and strict version control
  • Control the distribution of drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Liaise confidently with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Support site teams in Coldstream and Kilmarnock with document control requirements
  • Ensure deadlines, submissions, and approvals are met
  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with QA and ISO procedures

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in SharePoint?, * Proven experience in an experienced Document Controller role (construction or engineering background preferred)

  • Confident working independently on live projects
  • Strong understanding of document control procedures and best practice
  • Experience using document management systems such as Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite, SharePoint, or similar
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites in Coldstream and Kilmarnock

Desirable

  • Experience working on large or multi-site construction projects
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and QA processes
